The Emmys' Limited Series Board Adds Up Past 100 Cents — and Its 1-Cent Ghost Isn't Dead

Kalshi's Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series board flipped on Sept. 6 when DTF St. Louis swept six Creative Arts Emmys. We priced all six contracts at noon on ceremony day: the board's YES asks sum to 104 cents, the favorite sits at 92–93¢, and The Beast in Me is quoted at 1 cent. Here's why the 1-cent name is live rather than dead, and what history says about boards that look this settled the night of the show.

Entertainment prediction markets, explained

An entertainment contract works exactly like a political or sports one: it settles at $1 if the outcome happens and $0 if it doesn't, so the price in cents is the market's probability. What makes the category different is who is on the other side. The flow here is viewers, not traders, and viewers buy the name they recognize — which is why the famous contestant is reliably the most expensive contract on the board and, in most formats, the one the field is actively trying to eliminate.

That is the recurring structure we trade: visibility is priced as strength when the format punishes it. Before taking a position, convert the quote with our Probability Converter — a season-winner board with fifteen names typically sums well above 100¢, and that overround is most of the reason the favorites are bad value. Then check the number with the Expected Value Calculator and size it with Kelly.

Entertainment contracts list on Kalshi and Polymarket. For the wider Oracle catalogue see The 7 Oracles or the full articles archive, and every graded call lives on the track record.

Prediction markets are not sportsbooks — you trade a contract that settles at $1 or $0, not a wager against a house line. Informational only; trade responsibly.

Entertainment prediction markets — frequently asked

Can you trade entertainment prediction markets?

Yes. Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated exchange open to traders in all 50 states, lists entertainment contracts — Big Brother and other reality-competition winners, Spotify chart leaders, awards-season outcomes and box-office thresholds. Polymarket lists an overlapping set. These are prediction markets, not a sportsbook: you take a yes/no position on a contract that settles at $1 or $0, so the price in cents is the market-implied probability.

What are the Big Brother 28 winner odds?

The Big Brother 28 season-winner market trades on Kalshi under the series ticker KXBIGBROTHER, with one contract per houseguest that settles when the winner is announced at the finale. Our Big Brother coverage tracks the full board week by week — who the house is targeting, which favorites are carrying the heat, and where the board is overpaying. Prices move on every eviction, so open the live board before entering.

Why do entertainment markets get mispriced?

Because the flow is viewers, not traders. Retail money buys the name it recognizes from another show, which systematically overprices the famous contestant and leaves the well-positioned unknown cheap. Reality formats compound it: visibility is what gets you evicted, so the most legible player is often both the most expensive contract and the most likely to go out early. That gap between name recognition and survival equity is the recurring edge.

How should I size an entertainment position?

Small. Entertainment is the highest-variance category on the exchange — one broadcast or one conversation on a live feed can reset an entire board, and no model sees it coming. Quarter-Kelly or less is appropriate, and penny contracts should be treated as a basket rather than a single position, with the exit planned as a re-price rather than a hold to settlement. Run the numbers on our EV calculator and size with Kelly before entering.

Who writes the entertainment coverage at PredictionMarketsPicks?

The 7 Oracles culture desk. Nando Di Fino, Dane Martinez, Christopher Manzo, Nando lead the coverage — Dane Martinez on reality-competition and chart markets, Coach Gene Clemons on awards season, with additional reads from the wider Oracle roster. Every piece is dated and quotes the live board at time of writing so the call can be graded afterward.
