Big Brother 28 Week 8 Odds: Kalshi Has Rick Devens 56¢ to Be Evicted — and Yash Just Passed Dee as the Winner Favorite

Haley is gone, Drew is HOH, Yash won the veto, and the Icons are in the minority for the first time all season. Dane filmed with Dee 19% and Yash 18% — by the time the board caught up, Yash was the 23¢ favorite and Rick Devens was 56¢ to be evicted Thursday. Every price is a live Kalshi snapshot.

The Icons are in the minority for the first time all season — and the market moved faster than Dane could hit upload.

When he filmed, Dee Valladares was still the winner favorite at 19% with Yash Patel one point behind at 18%. By the time the board caught up to the Kingdom twist, the Week 8 HOH and the veto, it had flipped: Yash 23¢, Dee 18¢ on Kalshi as of September 1. And in the Thursday elimination market, the name at the top is the one Dane floated as Drew's pawn — Rick Devens, 56¢ to be evicted.

The Position

Market: Who gets evicted in Big Brother 28, Week 8? (Kalshi · KXBIGBROTHERELIMINATION-26SEP03)

Dane's read on tape: Drew wins HOH, nominates Yash, Taylor and Lala. Yash wins the veto. "Drew may put up Devens as the pawn here."

Live board now (Sep 1): Rick Devens 56¢, LaTrice "Lala" Verrett 37¢, Taylor Brown 16¢, everyone else 1¢

The trade: the board is doing what it did in Week 6 and Week 7 — pricing the veto ceremony before it airs. Devens at 56¢ is the market saying the "pawn" is anything but. If the house is really flipping on the Icons, the value is on the non-Icon side of the winner board, not in this week's eviction contract.

Resolution: live eviction, expected Thursday, September 3

Nothing below is a projection. Every number is a Kalshi price, snapshotted where dated.

The Kingdom Twist, On the Record

For the 10,000th episode Big Brother went medieval: no HOH, no veto, no BB Blockbuster — Big Brother Kingdom, set in the year 1000. The state of the house per Dane's read and the live-feed reporting behind it:

The Receipt: Dane's Tape vs. the Live Board

Same honesty rule as every week — what has held and what has moved since he filmed:

ContractDane's read (on tape)Live board (Sep 1)Move
Yash Patel (winner)18% — "up from 6 or 7% when we got him"23¢new favorite
Dee Valladares (winner)19% — "this jury is not giving her another $750K"18¢still the fade, now second
Rick Devens (winner)12–13% — "may go up as the pawn"sliding
Barrett Pfeiffer (winner)12% — "still a value"10–11¢cheaper than on tape
Haley Thogmartin (winner)1% — "probably gone"1¢ / eliminatedcalled it
Rick Devens (Week 8 eviction)"Drew may put up Devens as the pawn"56¢ favoritethe pawn is the target

The structural read — the Kingdom twist cracks the Crossover alliance, the Icons lose the numbers, and the value is on the other side of the house — is aging well. The one place the board moved past Dane is Yash: he said "second choice at 18%." The market decided that wasn't enough.

The Math of Nine

This is the part to actually sit with. Nine houseguests remain. Count the blocs the way Dane does:

If Barrett has already moved — and the spoilers say he has — that's five on four against the Icons, in a week where the Icons don't hold the veto. Dane's line: "They may get through a couple more weeks, but now they are going to be in the minority. And if they ever get to the end, no jury is going to give them money."

That second sentence is the whole thesis. Even the Icon scenario that survives the numbers dies at the final vote.

Big Brother 28 Winner Board — Yash Takes the Top

Full outright market as of September 1, 2026 (Kalshi KXBIGBROTHER-26DEC31), remaining houseguests only:

HouseguestPriceMove since Week 7 snapshotDane's read
Yash Patel23¢11¢ → 23¢got him at ~7% — "we got in early"
Dee Valladares18¢25¢ → 18¢the fade — jury won't pay her twice
Barrett Pfeiffer10¢newly quoted"still a value" — well-liked, resume move pending
Drew CampbellHOH, but "people don't believe in Drew"
Rick Devens16¢ → 9¢on the block as the "pawn" at 56¢
Angela MurrayIcon; one of the few Dee jury votes
Taylor Brownoriginal futures play from 3¢ — still live
Melody Morriswildcard vote, no love for either power bloc
LaTrice "Lala" Verrett37¢ to go Thursday; futures play still alive

Read the top two rows together. Yash's climb from 6–7% to 23¢ is the receipt this desk has been building since the LaTrice–Taylor value-plays piece in early August. Dee's slide from 29% post-HOH to 18¢ is the jury math getting priced.

Where the Value Sits Now

Barrett at 10–11¢. Dane's strongest new call. The case is simple: Barrett is one of the best-liked people in the house — "unlike say a Melody, unlike say a Devens, unlike say even a Lala or a Taylor" — and if he is the one who flips the house on the Icons, he pairs likability with the biggest move of the season. That is the profile juries reward. He is cheaper on the board today than he was on tape.

The non-Icon side, still. Taylor at 7¢, Lala at 4¢, Yash now 23¢. Dane isn't chasing Yash at the top of the board — he's holding the position he built at a third of the price. Taylor and Lala are the cheap ways to stay on the right side of the house if the flip is real, with the obvious caveat that Lala is 37¢ to leave Thursday.

The Dee fade, again. At 18¢ the market is still paying nearly one in five for a player Dane thinks gets three jury votes at most. If you want to express "the Icons don't win," Dee's No side is the cleanest way to do it.

The thing to size for: this board moved the winner favorite in roughly a day on information that hasn't aired. It will do it again. Small positions, entered before the tell is priced, across two or three contracts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is favored to be evicted in Big Brother 28 Week 8?

As of September 1, 2026, Kalshi's Week 8 elimination market (KXBIGBROTHERELIMINATION-26SEP03) has Rick Devens as the favorite at 56¢, LaTrice 'Lala' Verrett at 37¢ and Taylor Brown at 16¢. Every other houseguest is quoted at 1¢. Drew Campbell is Head of Household, Yash Patel won the Power of Veto, and the board is pricing Devens as the renomination before the ceremony airs.

Who is the favorite to win Big Brother 28 right now?

Yash Patel. On September 1, 2026, Kalshi's outright market (KXBIGBROTHER) has Yash at 23¢, ahead of Dee Valladares at 18¢, Barrett Pfeiffer at 10¢, Drew Campbell and Rick Devens at 9¢, Angela Murray at 9¢, Taylor Brown at 7¢, Melody Morris at 5¢ and LaTrice Verrett at 4¢. When Dane filmed, Dee was still on top at 19% with Yash second at 18% — the flip happened after the tape.

Was Haley evicted in Big Brother 28?

Yes. Haley Thogmartin was eliminated during the Big Brother Kingdom twist, the special format that marked the franchise's 10,000th episode. Her Kalshi winner contract had already collapsed to 1¢ before the result aired, which is how Dane called it on tape.

Why does Dane keep fading Dee Valladares?

The jury. Dee already won a million dollars on Survivor, and Dane's read is that the remaining jury will not hand her another three-quarters of a million. In his count, only Devens, Angela and maybe Drew would vote for her at the end. At 18–19¢ that's a lot of price for a player he thinks cannot win a final vote.

Is Barrett Pfeiffer a value at 10¢ to win Big Brother 28?

Dane thinks so. If Barrett breaks from the Crossover alliance and joins Yash, Taylor, Lala and Melody, he adds a resume move to a game where he is already one of the best-liked houseguests — the profile that wins jury votes. He was 12% on tape and trades at 10–11¢ on Kalshi as of September 1.

How should I size a Big Brother prediction market position?

Small. This board rerouted the winner favorite in about a day on unaired information. Reality television is the highest-variance category on the exchange. Quarter-Kelly or less, spread across two or three cheap contracts rather than one concentrated position, entered before the tell is fully priced.
