Novig Fee Calculator
Work out the exact Novig fee on any trade — pregame, live or futures, taker or maker — beside the same trade on Kalshi.
Novig charges no fee on pregame game trades. Taker fills placed while a game is live pay a small fee (it peaks at 50¢ prices), and NFL, MLB and college football futures carry a taker fee at all times. Makers — orders that rest on the book — never pay, and earn a credit when they get filled. At the 50¢ peak, a $100-payout taker fill costs $0.75 live and $1.50 on futures.

Novig's taker fee is c × price × (1 − price) per $1 of payout, rounded half-up to the millicent. Pregame game trades and golf, tennis and UFC futures pay nothing; makers never pay and earn a share of the taker's fee. Break-even is the win probability the position needs just to cover price plus fee. Fees are charged at the fill; a resting maker order never pays, and on a fill it earns 50% of the taker's fee on this schedule.

How Novig fees work
Novig is a peer-to-peer exchange, so there is no house margin built into the price. Its only charge is a taker fee at the fill, and only on some trades: game lines are free until the game goes live, and futures in the NFL, MLB and college football pay at all times. Golf, tennis and UFC futures never pay.
The fee scales with price × (1 − price), so the most expensive place to take liquidity is a 50¢ coin flip and the cheapest is a heavy favorite or a long shot. A maker — an order that rests on the book and gets filled — never pays and earns a share of the taker's fee.
Novig vs Kalshi
Kalshi uses the same price × (1 − price) shape at a higher rate and charges it on every fill. The calculator puts the same trade on both venues side by side; the Kalshi vs Novig comparison covers everything else. See what actually trades on Novig on the Novig Tape.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Novig charge fees?
Novig charges no fee on pregame game trades. Taker fills placed while a game is live pay a small fee (it peaks at 50¢ prices), and NFL, MLB and college football futures carry a taker fee at all times. Makers — orders that rest on the book — never pay, and earn a credit when they get filled. On a $100-payout trade at 50¢, a live game-line taker pays $0.75 and a futures taker $1.50.
Is Novig free to trade pregame?
Yes, on game lines. Novig charges game-line fees only while the game is live, so a taker fill before kickoff pays nothing. Futures are different: NFL, MLB and college football futures charge a taker fee at every phase, because a futures event never goes live.
How is the Novig fee calculated?
Fee = c × price × (1 − price) per $1 of payout, rounded half-up to the millicent, where price is the fill price as a probability. c is 0.03 on live game lines (0.06 for college football, MLB and NHL since October 8, 2026) and 0.06 on NFL, MLB and college football futures. The price × (1 − price) term makes the fee largest at 50¢ and close to zero at the extremes.
Do makers pay fees on Novig?
No. A maker — an order resting on the book that someone else fills — never pays. It earns a credit instead: 50% of the taker’s fee on game lines and 70% on futures.
Novig vs Kalshi fees — which is cheaper?
Both use the same price × (1 − price) shape. On Kalshi the taker rate is higher and applies to every fill, pregame or live: 100 contracts at 50¢ cost $1.75 to take on Kalshi, against $0.00 pregame and $0.75 live on a Novig game line. Compare prices too — a better price usually matters more than the fee.
Is Novig commission-free?
Mostly. Pregame trades on game lines are fee-free, and orders that rest on the book never pay. Novig charges the taker a small fee on live in-game fills and on NFL, MLB and college football futures, calculated as a coefficient × price × (1 − price) × contracts — so it is largest at 50¢ and shrinks toward zero at the extremes.
