Polymarket US fees calculator

Polymarket US charges a taker fee on each fill: Θ × contracts × price × (1 − price), with Θ = 0.0695 on most markets, so it peaks at 1.74¢ per contract on a 50¢ contract and shrinks toward the extremes. It's paid whether the position wins or loses. Resting (maker) orders pay nothing; a rebate starts above $10M of monthly maker volume. Kalshi charges 7% × price × (1 − price), at most 1.75¢.

How the Polymarket US fee works

The fee is Θ × C × p × (1 − p), where C is the number of contracts and p the price in dollars. Θ is 0.0695 on most markets and 0.1 on table tennis. The p × (1 − p) term peaks at 50¢, so a coin-flip contract carries the highest fee and a 90¢ or 10¢ contract much less. Kalshi uses the same shape at 7% × price × (1 − price).

Fees and rebates round to the nearest cent with banker's rounding. Combo trades use a separate curve and pay no maker rebate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are Polymarket US fees?

Polymarket US charges a taker fee on each fill: Θ × contracts × price × (1 − price), with Θ = 0.0695 on most markets, so it peaks at 1.74¢ per contract on a 50¢ contract and shrinks toward the extremes. It's paid whether the position wins or loses. Resting (maker) orders pay nothing; a rebate starts above $10M of monthly maker volume. Kalshi charges 7% × price × (1 − price), at most 1.75¢.

Are Polymarket US fees higher than Kalshi’s?

The same or a cent or two lower: the Polymarket US rate is a little below Kalshi's, and Kalshi rounds up. On 100 contracts at 50¢ the Polymarket US taker fee is $1.74 and Kalshi's is $1.75. The bigger difference is usually the contract price itself, which differs by venue.

Does Polymarket US charge maker fees?

No. A resting order that gets filled pays nothing. Makers earn a rebate only above $10M of maker volume in the prior calendar month, in four tiers.

Do Polymarket US fees differ by market?

Table tennis markets use a higher taker rate (Θ = 0.1). Combo trades use a separate fee curve and pay no maker rebate; see Polymarket US's fee schedule. Every other market uses Θ = 0.0695.

How are Polymarket US fees rounded?

To the nearest cent, with banker's rounding (a half cent rounds to the even cent). Kalshi rounds up to the next cent on every fill, so the two can differ by a cent on the same exact fee.

Is the fee charged if the position loses?

Yes. The taker fee is charged at the fill, when you enter, whether the position later wins or loses.
