How this settles
Resolves YES if the simple 60-second average of CF Benchmarks' Bitcoin Real-Time Index (BRTI) ending at the settlement window's cutoff time is strictly above the threshold (i.e., ≥78,000 or ≥86,750 depending on the variant).
- BRTI 60-second average, not spot price — Settlement uses the simple average of the 60 individual BRTI seconds immediately before the cutoff, so a momentary spike or dip at the window's close alone does not determine resolution — the full preceding minute's average does.
- Strictly above threshold, not equal — The rule is 'above 77,999.99 / 86,749.99,' meaning the average must exceed the threshold by at least $0.01 (i.e., reach exactly $78,000 / $86,750); landing precisely on those sub-cent figures still resolves YES, but any figure at or below them resolves NO.
- Two variants have different cutoff times — Variant 1 settles at 7 AM EST and Variant 2 at 5 PM EST on the same date — a trader must confirm which variant they hold, as the 60-second averaging window and thus the relevant market conditions differ by 10 hours.
- CF Benchmarks BRTI is the sole source — CF Benchmarks' BRTI (not any exchange spot price, CME fixing, or other index) is the exclusive data source, so discrepancies between BRTI and other Bitcoin price feeds are irrelevant to resolution.
These are the rules for the whole series — every contract in it settles the same way. Full KXBTCD settlement rules →
