Who's right? 22:00 Arizona Cardinals — the 2.5-game gap and the Carson Beck trapdoor 30:00 Cleveland Browns — Shedeur Sanders, Myles Garrett's absence, and why 6 wins is the bet 38:30 Las Vegas Raiders — Fernando Mendoza, a rookie HC, and the only under on the board 44:30 The one rule: don't let narratives price your bets 🔑 KEY TAKEAWAYS — Tanking is a fan fiction. Coaches on the hot seat can't afford to lose on purpose, and that's exactly why bad-team overs cash. — Start the season small. Every model on the market — including ours — is running on 2025 data until Week 3 or 4. Size up when the information gets real, not before. — The Kalshi and prediction-market crowd is sharp but narrative-driven. That gap is the edge. 🔗 RUN THE NUMBERS YOURSELF NFL Hub → Free Combo Edge Builder (no paywall) → All 20 free + Pro tools → 👥 FOLLOW Coach Gene Clemons → @geneclemons Chris James → @CJFlorida9 Chopping Up with CJ podcast → available on all platforms Fade the Field is a 7 Oracles production. Coach Gene Clemons and Chris James open Fade the Field Episode 15 with LeBron James signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, then break down 2026 NFL win totals for five teams the market has written off. New York Jets: posted total 6, model 6.5 projected wins against a Kalshi ladder implying 5.6, with a case built on an improved offensive line, three startable running backs, two receiving tight ends, and a protected Gino Smith. Miami Dolphins: posted total 5, model 6.7 against a ladder implying 4.6, with the hosts split because a team that loses one-score games looks identical on paper to one that wins them. Arizona Cardinals: posted total 4, model 6.4 against a ladder implying 4.2, the widest gap of the episode and the one both hosts are lower on, with the Carson Beck trapdoor once the season is out of reach. Cleveland Browns: model 7.9 against a ladder implying 5.9, with six wins called a live position before the market catches up, plus an extended argument that Shedeur Sanders was rated a first-round quarterback in April and a fifth-round landing spot is a steal rather than a knock. Las Vegas Raiders: posted total 7, model 5.6 against a ladder implying 6.5, the only under of the show, with rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, a rookie head coach, and three double-digit-win teams in the division. The closing thesis is that prediction-market traders on Kalshi are intelligent but let narratives price contracts more than numbers do, and that every preseason model including this one is running on prior-season data until Week 3 or 4, so position sizes should start small.
