Dancing With the Stars Season 35 Odds: Jenna Dewan vs. Amber Glenn After Premiere

What's wrong with a couple guys talking about Dancing with the Stars? Especially if we're talking about ways to um help people who know more about or or love or enjoy Dancing with the Stars a way to to build on their portfolios. I mean, I think that's that's what it's all about here at the Seven Oracles, right, dude? So, like, let's jump right into this because I I have some problems with the odds and I'm going to screen share the odds in a second. Okay. What's your take? Like what? Let's just go like straight up right now. Who is Jean's pick? Or at least who are you buying that you think will go high enough where you could eventually sell it for a profit at? So So for me, I think the the odds on or the people's favorite is going to be Jenna Dewan or Jenna Johnson. Dewan, is that what is it? Yeah. Like cuz she's not married to she's not married to Shannon Tatum anymore. Um Jenna Dewan. Jenna Johnson maybe. I don't know. Anyway, um and and I should know. So that's like my apologies because I don't want to be disrespectful to her or her husband. Yeah. Just in case she's googling herself and lands on this video. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jenna Jenna Johnson, excuse me. And um but she professionally goes by Jenna Dewan and she's a dancer. Like that's how that's her background. her her breakthrough in um in in in movies and and pretty much the thing that she's known for in movies is her movie Step Up, which then, you know, spawned a bunch of other just dance all the time type of things. But she was the she was the girl in dance school. Um my homeboy Shannon Tatum was the rough and tumble street dude. and um and then he ends up at the school because he could dance and ends up her partner and the rest is history because both of them became became big stars based off of or based on their performances in that movie. So I think I think everybody here knows the plot of that movie, right? Yeah. Yeah. They came they came big stars. I mean that but the plot of that movie and what I love about movies is that the plot isn't something new. this is uh two different sides of the track but have something in common that makes them like fall in love. Like that's a normal that's a normal movie trope that I think we all love. And so um seeing it seeing it play out there and then seeing a homeboy in it was kind of cool. And then um but like she's the odds on favorite. I think everyone thinks that she's gonna win but she's not. Look, I know. And that's what that's what we're here, right? That's what we're here to talk about is the fact that um she is the favorite and yet she's not the favorite or she's not the person that is in the top. And I think that's where we have the opportunity to be able to, you know, make some things happen. What is What is going on? But seriously, like cuz when this started, when the odds were first announced, it was uh it was Jenna Dawan and Amber Glenn were number one and two and then all of a sudden like out of nowhere like Harry Shum Jr. and Ezra French have leapt to the top and like I I mean Okay, so I can tell you athletes Amber Glenn Amber to me. So Amber Glenn is mine. Sorry. Like like yours Jenn I just want to set the table for where this is going to go eventually. No is not my pick to win it all. I'm telling you that she was everyone's pick to win it all before this thing started. But this year is stack with people who a lot of people believe are kind of cheat codes because they've danced. Yeah. Right. They Right. So like I think that's where it is. Amber Glenn including like figure skaters tend to just do well in this you know in this show um dating back years to when they first started. though. But the thing about Harry Shum Jr. is that he was a he he he he got his his start with dancing, right? He was in he was in one of the stepups or two of the step-ups maybe um as one of the dancers in in there and now he's on um Grey's Anatomy I believe, right? Harry Shump Jr. Grey's Anatomy of Grey's Anatomy fame. But like he's a he's a he's a known commodity and he can dance for real. The Ezra French thing. Um Ezra French is the I believe is the parolympian if I'm remembering correctly. Um he's the parolympic high jump um gold medalist and um and there is a parolympian in the like I ran I ran the top three finishers for the last uh 20 seasons. Gotcha. And it is like I mean a uh Amy Pery but I mean like it seems like a woman's always outside of the NFL players it seems like the Olympians who do well are the women. Yeah. Like you know that's usually because their lines are so elegant like they know how to present themselves. They be like and then because they have a background in technique. By the way, this is why the football players do so well is because athletes know how to work hard and you've got to work extremely hard in dance in order to get these. This isn't just you can spend an hour a day. You need to be spending hours upon hours working and perfecting and refining your technique. You have to have personality. You need to know how to be able to perform in front of a crowd because that's a part of it as well. Well, football players are not going to be scared of a crowd. They play in front of 50 and 60 and 100,000 people and figure skaters are used to being the most criticized most like scrut if if your if your leg moves the wrong way they take a tenth of a point off right so that's why they tend to do well um high pressure high leveraging high pressure situations I think that's why these people do so well um normally and so my personal pick or as I would say the people that I'm really looking forward to watching dance are are sentimental picks for me because they're a part of um our our upbringing our upbringing. Julia, I'll put her up on screen. Yeah, you love Julia Styles. Julia Styles, but she's famous for a dance like she's she's famous for dancing on a table. She's [snorts] famous 10 things I hate about a dance a dance movie and also a dance movie and also she's famous for a dance movie and um Save the Last Dance if people don't know and and and also like if you it was interesting because her backstory in the movie was that she was a ballet dancer and then she was learning hiphop from this hip-hop guy. Now, when I was looking at some of the stuff that they did, like you can tell the cutaways, that wasn't her doing some of the stuff with the cutaways or him either. But again, it's somebody that theoretically has dance in her background. How she's going to be able to perform is is is yet to be seen, but she's going to bring out the nostalgic vote, right? So will Lark Vorhees of Save by the Bell. Yeah. Um, not Lori. No, I'm sorry, not Lark Vorhees. Excuse me. Tatiana Ali. Tatiana Ali is one of the favorites to get eliminated. Tatiana Ali surprised me of of of The Fresh Prince because Tatiana Ali on top of being an actress was also a performer. Like she was a she was a singer and she danced. So like there's part of it that you understand why. Both of those, by the way, both of those ladies, they go tonight in tonight's group in night two. um they didn't go last night, but if you want to get into some of the the scores, we can do that from last night and how people did and and and you could probably see why the numbers are moving the way they're moving. Yeah. Well, I mean like I get like I get Jada Dearentes, right? Like she celebrity chef, you know, and I've actually seen her in a few places. I think she did Sesame Street uh a couple episodes or something. She popped up somewhere in one of the kid shows. I'm like, why is Jada Dearentes doing this? Yeah. And then like, by the way, I misspoke. I misspoke. It is Jenna Dewan. Jenna Johnson is um Harry Shum Jr.'s partner. All right. So, I misspoke. I just wanted to clean that. I wanted to clear that up. Um correction. I got too far in. People were hitting up the chat and went, "Yeah, you guys don't know what you're talking about. Her name ain't Jenna Johnson. It's Jenna Dewan." The Jenna Johnson. The the numbers that we see reflected right now are reflected because we've seen those people dance. Harry Shum Jr. went on night one. He received a 21. But the heavy hitters, the people like besides besides Harry Chum, um the heavy hitters are going tonight. So, now is the time, ladies and gentlemen, if you are looking to invest, now is the time to get your money in on Jenna Dewan while she's trading at 17%. He's here just to be here. It's a fun story, but they have those every year. And unlike some places where they'll hold on to the just, oh, this is a fun story, but they're not good. Yeah. Like usually the Dancing with the Stars people, they want to see the people who dance the best. And so the ones who don't dance well or just kind of there for freak show like purposes, they usually get popped off. So Tatiana Ali, if she comes out and she just has a solid performance, she makes it to week two. And if she makes it to week two, then she ha like her her her number to win has to go above 1 cents. How many already made money? How many Instagram followers Tatiana Tatiana Ali has? Say it again. How many Instagram followers do you think Tatiana Ali has? No clue. 1.6 million. Yeah. Well, that that's what I'm saying. Like she's a she like for a lot of us because she's she came up the same time that we were coming up. Yeah. Like there's a we we are what baby boomers used to be. Yeah. That's right. We're them now. And so like we have the buying power. We have the the opportunity to sway the votes which is why I'm on Tatiana Ali. I'm on Julia Styles. Even though they're just nostalgic picks, I think they have a chance to go far because their fan bases are the people who are going to be watching and and going to have the ability to sway votes. Her her um my season 35 dance partner is reveal Instagram. 10 110,000 likes. Yeah, that's that's insane, man. 110,000 likes just for a less than one like a 40 second video. If she makes it to the top six, she'll be 54 cent, maybe 45 cents, maybe 33 cents. But still, this is the beauty of prediction markets, right? Like this is the part that we that we we we have to consider with prediction markets. How much money is being traded in Dancing with the Stars right now? Right now it's all it's under. I think it's like 800,000. 879,000 for the winner and then 879,000 for the winner. 879 824. Uh that's what I'm saying. That's where it's at after night one. Yeah. And then the elimination is at 250,000. So look, this is a this is a 5050. It's not like American Idol where if you have the most Instagram followers, you're automatically going to win. And that was the problem when we were looking at American Idol with the couchs. um you know is that like you know you know who's gonna win. The girl with the most followers is going to win. It was it was very obvious that it was a blood bath. Um but and and so like that that also disallowed the lower people to even like you know if you liked that kid who I forget he was like a preacher um had a great voice. He was very charming and he was at like three cents and he jumped up like his ceiling was 5 cents even though I think he was like final five but it didn't move because everyone knew that one woman was going to win. This is different because it's 50/50 with the judges scores, right? And so like like you said like GMO might be pretty screwed because like he probably doesn't have that big social following to tell everyone to go text the vote. I'm sure Jimmy Kimmel, you know, ABC and whole Disney family can be like, "Go vote for GMO. Just text whatever, whatever." But he's he's in trouble because he's in trouble because the judges are going to vote him off, right? And but it's the judges only 50/50 of it. Like the judge I'm saying like the fact that it's 5050. Yeah. That's a he the heavy 50. You're getting zero votes, right? Exactly. So you're going to have to be double the next person. And that person, if that person's Tatiana Ali, right, like you got no chance because Tatiana Ali is going to get votes from the judges and from and from her fans, man. 110,000 likes on one Instagram video. And her her feed has just been and again, this is before we see them dance. Like, if they come out and really show, I'm telling you, the three ladies that I that I like, Jenna Dewan, get some money in on her right now. 17%. Yeah, right. Um, Julia Styles trading at 10 cents right now, I believe. 10%. Get some money in on her. And then the third one, Tatiana Ali trading at one cents. Yo, put a dollar on her. For the people who are like unfamiliar with this and are just watching to see some Jean, um like this is like all those names that Gene just threw out, right? You spread your $100 around those four right now. They're all under 20%. And if say that four of them make the final eight, like all those numbers are going to go up. So like all of this stuff has been like big with me which is why I'm I'm really into Dancing with the Stars. Like I think it's a um I' I've always loved it and so I like to check in and now with an opportunity to build your portfolio off stuff that you know and that you just have an affection for. I think there's a lot of people out there that look at prediction markets and they just think um oh sports books and it's so different. It's so different because this allows the expert to be the expert and you can be the expert in whatever it is you have a passion for. So the people who never miss Dancing with the Stars, the people who have Dancing with the Stars watch parties, the people who are who are all with in their in their group chats with their friends talking about the dances and who did what and which judge got it wrong. You're the expert. Yeah. Now use that expertise, right, to build a portfolio out and and take some trips when you get it right. Tatiana Ali 1% is crazy, man. That's like insulting. Like it's like you don't know who Tatiana Ali is, right? Like it's this is an $800,000 market. There's almost a million dollars floating around in here and no one's been like, "Well, you know, it may be double tomorrow." No. I'm But I'm saying like why is this 1% like she's she is the prototype of someone who goes far in Dancing with the Stars. you know, you're trying you're trying to you're trying to understand the thought process of people before they I'm telling you this this is a market where people wait to see what happens and then try to put their money in. And I'm telling you that it's the wrong way to think about it. This is where the novice person when it comes to like um when it comes to investments Yeah. Yeah, this is where the noviceses get it wrong. Tatiana Ali is Tatiana Ali is Apple before they're Apple, right? Tatiana Ali is is Facebook back when you're just it's just amongst people in school, right? Like it's Tatiana Ali is that stock that is cheap before it it it gets out of here, before it goes crazy. And she's still she's still friends with like they were doing she was doing videos with Will Smith. Yeah. I mean that's a giant power to have behind you to be like vote for my little sister. Yeah. And and everybody in that whole machine is going to push her. Yeah. I promise you everyone in that machine is going to push her. So it it it I I'll think about it. She's on Dancing with the Stars. Isn't the host uh Alonso Rivera is the is the is the host of Dancing with the Stars? That does seem a little unfair, right? Well, I mean, he doesn't he doesn't vote. Legitimately, they grew up together. So, like like that's those are the parts that I think people are missing because they're waiting to see if the stock booms and then they want to get on. They wonder why, oh, I can't get rich in the stock market because everything is everything that I want to invest in is already is already expensive. If you bought Bitcoin before Bitcoin was really Bitcoin, then you're you're a millionaire right now. Yeah. By the way, I know people I know people who had Bitcoin early. Yeah. like just regular just regular people who just happened to have like 10 Bitcoin and then when Bitcoin went like nuclear that first time they were like yeah I no longer have any debt I paid off all this I'm dip if they would have held on to that for the second boom right they'd all be millionaires they'd all be millionaires but when it hit that first like that first shock wave and and and and you know, Bitcoin went from like whatever it was traded like when it went to 18,000, right? Like I said 18,000. Yeah. It was the fir that first massive like holy moly like what just happened like people cashed out on it. But if they had waited just that I I want to say an extra couple of years it was until they hit that second level where it just exploded again. Yeah. They would all be millionaires. Yeah. Still they got enough. But but that's Tatiana Ali. That's all I'm saying. This this is this like I'm sorry. Like I'm I'm like I don't even looking down at my phone. It's probably why her her um Instagram followers are so um abundant now because that was a super viral dance that people were doing. And then when she did it with Will Smith and with Doi who like wrote the song it was like oh but that's also like you have a a trained dancer singer actress uh who has like this giant media machine. Dochi's going to be like vote for Tatiana Ali. That's what I'm saying. Like everyone's going to be on her side. Yeah man. That's a part of that sphere that and she's not going to get she can get a third. She's not going to be one cent ladies and gentlemen. Go get her right now. Yeah, go get her right now. I don't know about everything, but put a good amount of I think if I have a hundred, man, I would like and I was like all in on Amber Glenn. We haven't even talked about Amber Glenn, who was also insanely low. I I gave her I gave her 25 of my 100. I mean, we said her name, but we didn't really talk about her. Well, yeah, because I if we're being honest, I just don't think she's the most interesting one of She has like three million Instagram followers. No, I I I know. I'm just saying like as far as a storyline. Yeah. Like I don't think she's the as interesting because like you said, um figure skaters have always done well on these things, but outside of the figure skating world, what do we know about Amber? about ever Amber Glenn, right? Like so I know I know her from the cards world. Um let me see if I can find from the trading card from trading cards world. Yeah. So like during the before the Olympics like uh like way before like like December when you started like when you were just slightly ahead of everyone who's like oh the Olympics are soon. Um it was like her card was still cheap and like you know she won a gold like as the group but like she had a good backstory where she also like quit skating because like just the mental like toll that it takes on you and she like she had she picks her thing was she picks like amazing songs and like she's a crowd favorite and she like fires up the crowd big time like every like like you can feel the palpable energy in this arena. Um, and she That's why you have to get the money in on them right now before 12% dude. Like I 12% now. She was 12 12%. Yeah. Yeah. That's your Olympic history through Dancing with the Stars of top three finishes in the last 20 seasons. You know what would be good, Jean, if we have a minute? Can you guess in the last 20 seasons the NFL players who finished in the top three? There are one, two minute. We got to I got to do the finished in the top three people. There are seven There are seven NFL players who [clears throat] finished in the top three uh over the last 20 seasons. Well, but that's not the whole thing, right? I like I feel like Jacobe Jones did like maybe like a return. Yeah, I thought that was Desmond Howard did a did a return. I could be wrong. I don't know. Yeah. Well, I'm sure Desmond Howard did too, right? Like, uh, why else would Jacobe Jones be on Dancing with the Stars? Unless if he did something in the Because he because there's some years that are very lean years, very thin years where the star is kind of stretching it a little bit. Um, who else who else is on the list? Jacobe Jones starred in Super Bowl XLV 1 by scoring two long touchdowns, setting the record for the longest kickoff return in Super Bowl history. Okay. I don't think he was the MVP though. He helped the Ravens build a big lead and hold on. So, who would have won MVP if Jacobe Jones had that game? Um, Aaron Rogers. No, it would have been the Ravens. Maybe in the Ravens. Yeah. Oh, I don't know. He did not win the Super Bowl MVP, which went to Joe Flacco. Flaco. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. Okay, that makes sense. Either way, Jacobe Jones finished. Who's Who's the other Oh. NFL players that I Season six and season seven. We're looking at two defensive players with a lot of charm and personality. Oh, um um Charles Charles Woodson. No, we're I'm thinking more bigger linebacker bigger linebacker types here. I thought Charles Woodson did that. Okay, maybe not. Uh season six, this guy finished second. His sister uh is a hostess. Is a hostess on Fox. You said it wrong. She's a hostess. She's not on Fox anymore. You're talking about You're talking about Jason Taylor, but um Yeah, she's not a hostess. What? I don't know. What is she? A sidekick? No, but just I know. I know. Like she works at a restaurant. Yeah. Yeah. She's Yeah. You're talking about Jason Taylor? Yes. Joy Taylor is her sister who is the host of a um too personal. That's her um her um podcast now. She used to be on Fox um a long time with The Herd, with Colin Cow Herd. And then she was doing another show um that got let go when Fox decided they wanted to sell out to David Portoi and his boys over there. So, well, um yeah, Jason Taylor, another defensive player. I bet you Joy Taylor would do all right on Dancing with the Stars. No, I don't. She She She says that she's not a dancer. All right. She used to She used to be a hooper, though. She used to play basketball and soccer. So, like she was a tom she was an admitted big tomboy. Hey, Jean. Like up into up into um college. So, if Caitlyn Clark did Dancing with the Stars, would she be the odds on favorite and winner? I think that she would be one of the most watched. Um, but I don't think Caitlyn Clark can dance. Actually, I'm pretty positive that Caitlyn Clark can't dance. Does it matter? Yeah. You have to be able to at some points you have to be able to dance or you have to have or you learn a personality that enders to people. So, she wouldn't be the first person voted off because her her fan base would be through the roof, right? Yeah. But she would eventually lose out to people who really can dance or who have more personality than her because her personality is kind of blocked. Wait, this can't be right. When it comes to that, the year Jacobe Jones finished third, Kelly Pickler won. Yeah. Kelly Pickler of American Idol Fame. Do you know who the runner up was? No. There's no There's no Zenaia. Zenaia. Yeah, Zenaia. But that remember that was like teenage Zenaia. I know. I know. But like that's I mean you don't think of that today. Like you see but she's really like she was a like she grew up as an artist like as a dancer, singer, performer and she was really like she was really good on there, but it almost looked like she wasn't mature. Like you can almost you can almost see the girl still in her. And I think the like I think one year um one year um um Ali won, Leila Ali won or either took second. One of the two I can't remember. No, not Leila Ali. Leila Ali the boxer. Oh, sorry, man. I'm losing it. Yeah. Yeah, she did. She did. Uh hold on. I have it on the list somewhere. And And the thing was is that again, she's an athlete. She knows how to work super hard. Um, and then she was in fantastic shape. So, she it [snorts] looked elegant. It looked long. It looked beautiful. It looked mature. Zenaia when she was on, if Zenaia today went on Dancing with the Stars, she would she would smoke everybody. But then Zenaia of then still had still very much had that that gangly teenage skinny girl body. And I just don't think that that plays as well with with your lines, right? Like we're just talking dance now. Like it doesn't play as well with the lines. It it looks less mature when it comes off. So she did really well. Again, she she took second, but Kelly Pickler was a grown woman when she did Yeah. Dancing with Stars, and I think that mattered. If you look at the most if you look at the most recent group um man there have been a lot of athletes. Yeah. It it it's become the thing to do for athletes especially athletes recently retired or or um you know looking for ways to kind of kick off whatever their second their second act is after football. Josh Norman. Josh Norman finished second in the 26th season. Yeah. Harding. Football Football players usually do pretty darn well on there, especially skilled players. That rugby player, Lona Mahar, finished second in season 13. Yeah, that's the one. She's like she like does the stuff now. She does all the like influencer stuff now. Jeez, man. There are some randoms. I mean, Zenaia has got to be the most random. And not because like of who she was then, but just kind of like how above it all she is now and how big she is now. And you're like, "Wow, man. She almost lost to Jacobe Jones and Dancing with the Star." Yeah. She was on She was still on Disney then. Yeah. Like this was this was what was it? Um, Shout It Out or Say It Loud or whatever the show was that she was on. Um, like this was this was her before she came into her powers, right? Right. Like fully fully because she's always been she's always been her like she's always been a really good but like now like her maturity even though she's still like relatively young like if we're talking about like adults she's a young adult. Yeah. And even then, like we I think sometimes we lose perspective of how old some of these people are because some people lie, but then some start so early that you almost go, "Wait a minute." Like, Zenaia's only ex like she's not older than that. Like, yeah, no, she was 14 when you you know what I'm saying? Like she was she was 13. She was 16 when she was doing this and now she's this. So, it's cool. I'm I'm looking forward to tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing what the ladies do. I would tell everybody, if you like any of these ladies, now is the time to get your investment in. Don't wait until after they dance. This doesn't make sense. This is like we found gold.
