Oscars 2026 Prediction: Sinners won't win Best Casting

What up traders? You know what it is. It is once again time to build your portfolio with another prediction prophecy to get you some profit. I am your host, the spitting statistician Dane Martinez, one of the seven oracles looking to see into the future. And today it is Oscars week. So we continue to look at some of the value in Oscar nominations. Today we look at the brand new best casting category and we are fading the favorite in this one right now in prediction markets. Sinners is at around 75% and I think the value is going elsewhere to fade sinners and bet the no on sinners as best casting. Here's why. Okay, a couple of reasons. First of all, this is a completely unknown category. It is the first time the Oscars are ever doing this category. There is no comp in any other award. So you can't just say oh the producers guild award right or the golden globes which usually predicts who would win this one that doesn't exist here so we are going in blind also while sinners may be a deserving favorite right it part of it is just because it's just become a popular pick right and because it has quote unquote industry momentum but here's the thing this is what I think is interesting yes it has a diverse class uh cast yes it should be applauded for that however the casting director ctor Francine Masler actually came onto the project after Michael B. Jordan. Michael B. Jordan was already kind of connected to this movie before the casting director came on. And as you know, Michael B. Jordan, who plays both twins, is really the top two roles in this movie. So, are you really going to give it to a casting director who didn't cast the two most important roles for the movie? I think that is an under the radar way that they could actually move away from sinners in this category. And quite frankly, there are two other movies in this category that I think could deserve the award. The first is one battle after another. And if this is going to be kind of a one battle after another kind of steamroll and they are going to win a ton of Oscars, which many people are predicting, this would in fact add to the hall. And this also had a very diverse cast, right? a lot of kind of character actors you may recognize, unknown non-professional actors as well. Kids that are amazing as well. So, you could make the case for one battle after another. Another movie out there is Marty Supreme that is nominated for this one. You have guys like Tyler the Creator in this one. An actor you haven't seen like this before. You have a Gwyneth Paltro, right, who is an older starlet who rarely acts yet is perfect for casting in this role. You got a wacky cast of non-acctors. So, you can see them going to Marty Supreme because remember, Marty Supreme is loved universally, but may not bring home a big hall outside of potentially Shalamé for best actor, right? So, when you combine all of this with one battle after another being a huge best picture favorite and may want to rack up the tally, when you have Marty Supreme being an intriguing casting choice that is also loved by voters and may need to get a kind of nod to boost their tally and the idea that sinners and the casting director came on after Michael B. Jordan, I think you have a narrative here where this can go away from sinners, away from the favorite. And I think these odds are a little bit off and there is value elsewhere. Fade the favorite sinners for the casting category at the Oscars. The Oracle has spoken. Now go and get it now before everyone realize it and the numbers move.
