The market overbought the tight-final narrative and the whole goals ladder came loose. Over 2.5 in regulation trades at 42c against a 50.7% model read — a 8.7-point gap, and the widest edge on the board on the last day of the tournament.
Kalshi prices the winner market almost exactly on top of our simulation — Spain 43c vs a 43.5% read, the draw 32c vs 29.6%, Argentina 28c vs 26.9% — so the trophy contracts are fair paper, not edge. The goals ladder is a different story. Every rung trades below the model: over 1.5 at 70c vs 77.3%, over 2.5 at 42c vs 50.7%, over 3.5 at 23c vs 28.6%, while the low-score block trades rich (0-0 at 11c vs 8.9%, 1-1 at 15-16c vs 14.2%). Three rungs cheap by the same model with the mirror-image scorelines expensive is a repriced narrative, not noise: the board internalized Spain's six clean sheets and 'finals are tight' so hard it now pays a premium for gridlock. Our fixture read has 2.70 expected goals (Spain 1.53, Argentina 1.17) and both teams scoring 56.2% of the time. Settles on regulation only — extra time does not count. Sized quarter-Kelly at roughly 3% of bankroll; the play dies above 47c.
