What is Polymarket?
Polymarket is an order-book prediction market where every NFL contract settles at $1 if the outcome happens and $0 if it does not, so the live price is the market-implied probability of that outcome. Liquidity is the deepest in the space, which keeps spreads tight on marquee games. Polymarket historically kept US traders off its international book; its acquisition of QCEX, a CFTC-licensed exchange and clearinghouse, became Polymarket US, which opened to US traders in December 2025 and expands state by state.

Is it legal? How it works
Polymarket now operates a CFTC-regulated US venue through QCEX. Access rolled out in phases and some state-level questions remain open, so US availability can vary by state and verification step. That is the gap our geo-aware link closes: US visitors are pointed to Kalshi — fully regulated and live in all 50 states today — while traders elsewhere get the Polymarket link.

Increasingly, yes. After acquiring the CFTC-licensed exchange QCEX, Polymarket relaunched US trading, and its NFL markets are live at polymarket.com/sports/nfl. Rollout has been phased and some state-level questions remain open, so access can still depend on your state and verification. Is Polymarket legal in the US for NFL?
Polymarket’s US venue operates under the CFTC through QCEX, the licensed exchange and clearinghouse it acquired. That regulates its NFL event contracts federally rather than as sports betting. Availability is still expanding state by state, which is why we route US traders to Kalshi by default.

A Polymarket NFL contract trades between 1¢ and 99¢, and that price equals the market-implied probability — a team at 58¢ is a 58% favorite. The price moves with order flow rather than being set by a house, so there is no built-in vig the way a sportsbook line carries one.
