DraftKings Predictions NFL — Markets & How It Works
DraftKings Predictions is DraftKings’ CFTC-regulated prediction market, built on Railbird — a licensed exchange it acquired in 2025. It lists NFL event contracts in states where its sportsbook is not available. Here is what NFL markets are live, how the contracts settle, and how it compares to Kalshi.
What is DraftKings Predictions?
DraftKings Predictions trades NFL outcomes as event contracts on Railbird Exchange, a CFTC-licensed designated contract market. Each contract is a yes/no position that settles at $1 or $0, with the live price acting as the implied probability. Because it is regulated federally as event contracts rather than as a sportsbook, it is available to traders in a number of states where DraftKings’ sportsbook is not.

Is it legal? How it works
DraftKings Predictions is regulated by the CFTC, not a state gaming regulator — the contracts are federally listed event contracts, legally distinct from sports betting. The Predictions app is live in roughly three dozen states, with the NFL contract menu narrower and expanding; notably it reaches markets such as California, Texas, Florida and Georgia where the DraftKings sportsbook does not operate.

Yes. DraftKings Predictions lists NFL event contracts — game winners, spreads and player/stat markets — through Railbird, the CFTC-licensed exchange DraftKings acquired in 2025. Each contract is a yes/no position that settles at $1 or $0.
Is DraftKings Predictions legal? Which states?
It is a CFTC-regulated prediction market, which makes its NFL contracts legally distinct from sports betting. The app is live in 48 states and D.C., but its NFL and other sports contracts are offered in only 18 — mostly states like California, Texas, Florida and Georgia where the DraftKings sportsbook is not available.
Is DraftKings Predictions the same as the DraftKings Sportsbook?
No. The sportsbook is a state-licensed sports-betting product; DraftKings Predictions is a federally CFTC-regulated event-contract exchange running on Railbird. They are separate products with different rules, pricing and state availability.
DraftKings Predictions vs Kalshi for NFL?
Both list NFL event contracts under CFTC regulation. Kalshi has the longer track record, the broadest NFL board, and 50-state availability, and it is the exchange our DAEPA model prices against to surface live edges. DraftKings Predictions is a strong option if you already use DraftKings, especially in states where its menu reaches you.
