How this settles
Resolves YES if the BLS-published seasonally adjusted CPI-U All Items less Food and Energy (Core CPI) for October 2026 shows a month-over-month increase strictly above 0.5%.
- Seasonally adjusted, not unadjusted print — The rules specify the seasonally adjusted series; the unadjusted figure can differ meaningfully, so traders tracking the wrong series could misjudge resolution.
- Strictly above 0.5%, not at or above — A print of exactly 0.5% does NOT resolve YES — the increase must exceed 0.5%, making the boundary critical if the release rounds to that figure.
- BLS revisions can alter the print — The BLS periodically revises seasonal adjustment factors, so the initial release figure and a later revised figure may differ; the rules do not specify which print governs, creating ambiguity if a revision crosses the 0.5% threshold.
