Why We Like the Vikings on Kalshi & Polymarket — NFC North 2026 Prediction Markets

August 21, 2026 · 6:21 · The 7 Oracles · Nando Di Fino, Dane Martinez

About this video

The prediction markets are pricing the Minnesota Vikings as the WORST team in the NFC North at roughly 18¢. Dane Martinez and Nando Di Fino think that's wrong — and more importantly, they think it's tradeable. This isn't a call that Minnesota wins the division. Detroit is a deserving favorite. The case is simpler: the Vikings won 8-9 games last year on replacement-level quarterback play, the defense is good year in and year out, and Kevin O'Connell is the guy who got 14 wins out of Sam Darnold and rebuilt Daniel Jones' market value. Kyler Murray went to Minnesota for exactly that reason. Then there's the other side of the board — why Chicago is the NFC North regression candidate nobody wants to hear about. The Bears leaned on late one-score comebacks and one of the league's best turnover differentials, and the two DBs who drove that interception total (Kevin Byard, Nahshon Wright) are on other rosters now. The bigger idea: at 18¢, a 3-1 start could reprice this contract into the 40s. That's a cash-out, not a lottery ticket. The NFL season is short enough that prices actually MOVE — unlike the World Cup markets, where everyone already knew the winner was coming out of Spain, France or Argentina and there was never an exit. Plus: a team goes worst-to-first in some division nearly every year of the last decade, and injuries will reprice two or three Super Bowl favorites before Halloween. 📩 Subscribe to the newsletter: The7Oracles.com 🔧 Free tools — EV calculator, Kelly sizing, probability converter: PredictionMarketsPicks.com The 7 Oracles cover Kalshi, Polymarket and the prediction markets — NFL, futures, and the edges the market hasn't priced yet. Dane Martinez argues the prediction markets are wrong to price the Minnesota Vikings as the worst team in the NFC North. Minnesota won eight or nine games last season on replacement-level quarterback play, the defense has been good year after year, and Kevin O'Connell has a track record of rehabbing quarterback careers — Sam Darnold won 14 games in this same building. Dane also names Chicago as his regression candidate: the Bears' 2025 record leaned on late one-score comebacks and one of the league's best turnover differentials, and the two defensive backs who drove that interception total are gone. Nando Di Fino frames the Vikings contract as a trading opportunity rather than a prediction — at 18¢, a 3-1 start could reprice Minnesota into the 40s and create a cash-out, which is something World Cup markets never offered because the favorites were too obvious. Both Oracles note that a team has gone worst-to-first in a division nearly every year of the last decade, and that NFL injury variance reprices contracts violently by Halloween.
