How this settles
Resolves YES if the seasonally adjusted BLS Core CPI (All Urban Consumers, All Items less Food and Energy) for September 2026 shows a month-over-month increase strictly above 0.7%.
- Strictly above 0.7%, not at 0.7% — The threshold is exclusive — a print of exactly 0.7% resolves NO, so traders long YES need a reading of at least 0.8% on a rounded basis (or >0.700% unrounded).
- Seasonally adjusted series only — The rules specify the seasonally adjusted figure; the unadjusted (NSA) Core CPI can differ meaningfully and is irrelevant for resolution.
- Initial release vs. subsequent revisions — The rules say 'as published by the BLS' without specifying the first print or final revision — if BLS revises the figure after initial release, it is ambiguous which print governs settlement.
- Month-over-month, not year-over-year — Core CPI is widely quoted both ways; traders must confirm resolution uses the monthly change (not the 12-month annual rate), which is a much smaller number.
