How this settles
Resolves YES if the maximum temperature recorded at Los Angeles station CLILAX on the settlement date falls within the range, above the upper threshold, or below the lower threshold (depending on the variant) as reported by The Weather Company.
- Inclusive range in Variant 1 vs. strict inequalities elsewhere — Variant 1 resolves YES at exactly 76° or 77°F (inclusive), while Variants 2 and 3 use strict greater-than/less-than, meaning a reading of exactly 83°F resolves NO on Variant 2 and exactly 76°F resolves NO on Variant 3 — the boundary behavior differs critically across variants.
- Single source: The Weather Company only — Only The Weather Company's reading of CLILAX is authoritative; NWS, Weather Underground, or any other provider showing a different max temperature has no bearing on resolution.
- CLILAX station, not a city-wide or airport average — The Weather Company's data pull is tied specifically to station code CLILAX, so readings from nearby stations (e.g., KCQT downtown or KVNY Van Nuys) are irrelevant even if widely reported.
- No revision or re-check policy stated — The rules do not specify whether a later correction to the CLILAX daily maximum by The Weather Company would trigger re-resolution, so traders should assume the first available daily maximum print is final.
