Five 2026 NFL win totals nobody wants to touch — and the four the model says are priced too low. Coach Gene Clemons and Chris James run the Jets, Dolphins, Cardinals, Browns and Raiders against live Kalshi KXNFLWINS contracts, with the Raiders the only fade on the board.

Coach Gene Clemons and Chris James spent Episode 15 of *Fade the Field* on the five 2026 win totals nobody wants to touch — the Jets, Dolphins, Cardinals, Browns and Raiders. Four of the five came back over the market. One came back a fade. Here is the board, anchored to live Kalshi contracts.

## The board

| Team | Contract | Kalshi price | Market wins | Model wins | Read |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jets | 6+ wins | 46¢ | 5.6 | 6.5 | Over |
| Dolphins | 5+ wins | 42¢ | 4.6 | 6.7 | Over |
| Cardinals | 4+ wins | 57¢ | 4.2 | 6.4 | Over |
| Browns | 6+ wins | 52¢ | 5.9 | 7.9 | Over |
| Raiders | 7+ wins | 47¢ | 6.5 | 5.6 | **Fade** |

"Market wins" is what the full KXNFLWINS ladder implies — every rung from "1 or more wins" to "17," summed. Live prices on the [NFL Win Totals page](https://predictionmarketspicks.com/nfl/win-totals); this table is a snapshot and the board moves daily.

## Jets — the offensive line nobody is talking about

The posted total is 6, the ladder implies 5.6, and the model projects 6.5. Gene's case is structural: this is quietly one of the better offensive lines in the AFC, there are three running backs on the roster who could start somewhere, and Mason Taylor inline alongside rookie Sadiq in the slot gives them two tight ends who can actually catch. Protect Gino Smith and he is the most accurate quarterback in the league — that has never been the question. The question is whether the defense holds.

The schedule is what keeps this honest. At Tennessee, home for Green Bay, at Detroit, at Chicago is a brutal opening stretch, and a slow start is how a six-win team becomes a four-win team in the standings without ever being a four-win team on tape.

## Dolphins — the one-score problem

Posted total 5, ladder 4.6, model 6.7. This is also where the hosts split hardest: CJ's own index landed at 6.57 and he still wrote down 4-13.

That gap is the whole episode in miniature. A team that loses six one-score games and a team that wins six one-score games look identical in July. The difference is infrastructure, and infrastructure does not show up in a projection. Miami opens at Las Vegas, at San Francisco, home for Kansas City, at Minnesota, home for Cincinnati — a stretch that can bury the record before the Week 6 bye regardless of how the roster actually plays.

## Cardinals — the widest gap, and the one to be careful with

Posted total 4, ladder 4.2, model 6.4. A 2.2-win gap is the largest disagreement on the board, and the honest note is that both hosts sit *below* their own model here. CJ walked the schedule and could not find the wins: "I don't think they're favored in a single game prior to their bye."

The trapdoor is the quarterback. The moment Arizona is out of it, Carson Beck plays and the games Jacoby Brissett would have stolen go in the loss column. That is a real downside tail the model's midpoint does not capture, and it is why a wide gap is not automatically a large position.

## Browns — the position CJ changed his mind on live

The model has Cleveland at 7.9 against a ladder implying 5.9. Gene sees eight wins and a couple of plays away from nine. CJ had them 3-14 from a June pass and disowned it on air: "I think I'm way too far under." His conclusion — six wins is a live position *right now*, before the market reprices.

Two arguments carry it. First, losing Myles Garrett costs a middle-of-the-pack defense less than the headline implies: a premium edge rusher is what pushes a contender over the top, not what turns a seven-win roster into a four-win one. Second, whoever plays quarterback inherits a better situation than last year's — improved line, bolstered receiving corps, Harold Fannon in year two.

And then there is Shedeur Sanders. The hosts' point is simple and hard to argue with: the same evaluators who called him a first-round quarterback in April now treat a fifth-round landing spot as proof he is not one. Nobody kept relitigating Brock Purdy's draft slot after he started winning. If your April board said first round and he went in the fifth, that is a steal by your own math.

## Raiders — the only fade

Posted total 7, ladder 6.5, model 5.6. The lone under, and the hosts and the model agree for once.

Rookie quarterback in Fernando Mendoza, rookie head coach, and a division with three teams expected to win double-digit games. Go 0-6 in the division and the seven wins have to come from a schedule that includes the Dolphins, at the Chargers, at the Saints, the Chiefs, at the Patriots, Buffalo and the Rams.

Gene's structural point is the one worth keeping: number-one picks rarely lift a franchise quickly, and that is not about the player. The pick goes to the team least equipped to support it. Mahomes fell to a functional Kansas City roster. Lamar landed in Baltimore. Andrew Luck walked into a Colts team that had won a Super Bowl three years earlier and tanked one season. Mendoza is walking into none of that.

## Tanking is a fan theory

One thing worth killing, because it prices these contracts wrong every year. Nobody inside a building is trying to lose. Coaches on the hot seat cannot afford it — you lose fourteen games, you earn the number one pick, and then you are fired and somebody else drafts the quarterback. The only real tanking is a half-time decision in Week 18 when the pick is mathematically live and the season is dead.

That matters here because four of these five teams are priced as though losing is somebody's plan. It isn't. It is just what happens to rosters without infrastructure — and rosters without infrastructure still win games the market never allocated to them.

## How to actually work this board

The closing thesis from the show: the traders across from you on Kalshi are intelligent, but they let narrative price contracts more than numbers do. The Raiders get a Super Bowl-winning coordinator and the number one pick, and the story writes itself into the price. That gap is the edge — trade against the story, not against the team.

The discipline half matters just as much. Every preseason projection in circulation, ours included, runs on last season's data plus offseason moves. Nobody has proprietary July information, and anyone selling you that is selling you something. Start small now. Size up around Week 4 when real games have repriced the board.

Every one of these teams has a full model page with its 17-game schedule and per-game win
probabilities under [NFL team hubs](https://predictionmarketspicks.com/nfl/teams), and the rest of the season board — division,
conference and Super Bowl markets — sits on [NFL futures](https://predictionmarketspicks.com/nfl/futures). If you are new to how
