No API key, no account. ## What Google launched On Oct. 28, Google launched the preview of its [Connected Apps Platform](https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/technology/developers-tools/connected-apps-one-place/), one place for developers to build apps for Search and the Gemini app. Developers connect a cloud-hosted MCP server (the Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI assistants use to call outside tools) and choose whether the app goes live in Search, the Gemini app or both. Google says it has launched more than 50 connected apps across the two, with partners like Adobe, Calm, Experian and Peloton, and it's opening developer access in phases. The piece that matters for traders: these apps answer from live data at the moment you ask.
